  • Contractor: Grocon
  • Year: 2012
  • Location: Sydney
  • Type: Commercial

Surface Design has completed the design of the steel cable tension structure which is fully glazed. The structure will be the centrepiece for the development which will engage the public and tenant ANZ. The developer is GPT and the architect FJMT are very excited to see this structure taking form in 2012.

The installation of the tension structure is progressing smoothly. The complicated interfaces with the structure and spring box details have been designed and the first cables on Castlereagh Street elevation have been installed and tensioned. Glass installation is progressing on the internal walls in conjunction with sandstone and timber cladding. The fabrication of the steel canopies and components is complete and JML are working closely with Surface Design and Grocon to provide an efficient and accurate installation.
